The Showdown

Description:
Widely considered the greatest Western film of all time, "Once Upon in the West" is a gritty tale of Western expansion, greed and revenge, but for all its dark overtones it gave us some iconic Western Cinema characters such as Charles Bronson's "Harmonica" character as well as Henry Fonda's only portrayal of a villain ever to appear on screen. For this massive fine art pencil illustration which measured 18-x24 inches I did my best to include many key elements of the film including the opening scene at the train station to the closing scene of the rail depot starting construction but sought to find a way to also make the piece have a unique composition which is why the femme fatale of the film is illustrated inside the shape of pistol to indicate that not all characters 'danger' is outwardly visible, but maybe be on the 'inside'.
