The Western Art Rodeo Association is proud to have Erika Haight as a member.
Erika has a long list of awards and accomplishments earned from her amazing photos of various subjects including horses, western fine art, native american fine art and more. One of Erika’s favorite subjects to photograph is wild mustangs.
She uses digital equipment, which allows her to artistically manipulate the images, to re-create that exact moment in time when the photo was taken. She may choose to alter the texture, change the balance, or enhance the color of the photographs digitally to bring the photograph to life. In the end, the photos are nothing short of spectacular.
The excerpt below was taken from and article in Cowboys & Indians Magazine featuring Erika:
“By making the photograph look like a painting, I can draw the viewer into the picture,” Haight says. “Anyone can take a snapshot of what’s in front of them, but after I work with my photographs, they become living pieces of art.”
