Painting the American West
I was born in Prescott, AZ. The beautiful Southwest where I grew up has always been close to my heart. I spent much of my youth exploring, hiking and riding. Being raised in a rural setting and enjoying this freedom instilled in me a deep and lasting love of our great American West.
More than 20 years ago in reflecting on my life, the desire to share this once-in-a-lifetime experience motivated me to begin a visual portrayal of scenes and events that have fascinated me throughout my life. Thus began my journey into the world of painting. Beautiful Southwestern skies, incredible sunsets and sunrises, and scenes of our everyday life on the ranch are what inspire me. Today I enjoy sharing these scenes of our everyday life on the ranch, and my desire is that it will show my personal vision, enthusiasm, and respect for the West. My place is in the West and my goal as an artist is to convey to the viewers the same feelings of joy and hopefully give them a peek into our corner of the world. I believe that it is important to paint from your heart, paint what you know and love, and what inspires you. I am grateful for the privilege of living the life of a rancher, and being inspired by my surroundings. I gather much of my subject matter on the ranch that my husband and I own and operate Northwest of Prescott.
