2018 Western Art Rodeo World Standings

2018 Western Art Rodeo World Finals

The Top 20 artists in each category of the World Standings at the end of the 2017/2018 Circuit will earn the right to compete in the 2018 Western Art Rodeo World Finals.

The Finals will consist of 3 Rounds of Competition. 2 long rounds and one short or final round.

This will be a elimination format.

Entries and Entry Period: Entry Period will be at the end of November, 2018. Qualifying members will be notified by e-mail. Contestants will enter 3 pieces, all at one time, one for each round of competition. Entries may be new works or works entered previously into monthly Western Art Rodeo events during the 2017/2018 circuit.

Entry Fee: $50 per member per category

Round 1 (December 3-7, 2018)

• All 20 Artists in each category will enter 1 piece
• Judges will score all 20 pieces and award points based on the following schedule:
  • 1st place = 600 points
  • 2nd place = 570 points,
  • 3rd place = 540 points
  • 4th place = 510 points
  • 5th place = 480 points
  • and so on down to 20th place=30 points.

Round 2 (December 10-14, 2018)

• All 20 Artists in each category will enter 1 piece
• Judges will score all 20 pieces and award points based on the following schedule:
  • 1st place = 600 points
  • 2nd place = 570 points,
  • 3rd place = 540 points
  • 4th place = 510 points
  • 5th place = 480 points
  • and so on down to 20th place=30 points.

The Points awarded to each member in rounds 1 and 2 will be combined, providing a points total for each contestant.

Round 3 – Final Round (December 17-21, 2018)

• Only the Top 8 artists in combined points from Rounds 1 and 2 will compete in Round 3.
• Judges will score the 8 pieces and award points based on the following schedule:
  • 1st place = 1200 points
  • 2nd place = 1140 points,
  • 3rd place = 1080 points
  • 4th place = 1020 points
  • 5th place = 960 points
  • 6th place = 900 points
  • 7th place = 840 points
  • 8th place = 780 points

Points accumulated from all 3 Rounds of the finals will be totaled for each contestant then added to the Cumulative points total for each member in the 2018 Circuit of events.

The World Champion in each category will be the contestant with the highest combined total in all 2017/2018 events, including the Finals.

All Artists that Qualify for the World Finals Have a Chance to Win It!

Prizes:

World Champions in each category (including All Around) will receive:

• Title of WARA 2018 World Champion Artist
• WARA World Championship Buckle
• WARA World Championship Shirt
• Guaranteed placement in “Ace” – Volume 1. The annual publication of the WARA.
• Featured placement/promotion on the WARA Website and Social Media Channels as the Reigning World Champion – (the one to beat next year)
• Lifetime recognition as the 2018 World Champion in the WARA World Champion Hall of Fame.
